This tree was produced some time ago (24 years ago, in fact….), with the help of Barbara Beard (nee Hanlon), who was married to Benjamins great, great, great grandson Maurice who represented the Australian branch of the family.
It features 44 individuals who were born with the name Beard, with the Victorian core of the family based in Bobbingworth, Matching and the Lavers in west Essex. Living relatives of this family bearing the Beard name may still live in south Essex, but the majority of lines arising from Benjamin are now extinct.
As discussed in the document, there are persuasive links between this family and the Beards of Hatfield Broadoak, whose tree I will publish at a later date.
